The Race

Close your eyes and imagine  Disneyland in California. Now, imagine running down Main Street, USA, surrounded by 10,000 other Disney fans, being cheered on by friends, family, complete strangers, and Mickey Mouse himself.

We do!

RunDisney offers running events all over the world at Disney locations. From Disneyland in California to Disney World in Florida. From Disneyland Paris to Castaway Cay. A few years ago, Laura and Veronica caught the RunDisney bug and decided to complete the Glass Slipper Challenge as part of the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Disney World in Florida. The challenge consisted of completing a 10K on a Saturday and completing a Half Marathon the next day. That's 19.3 miles in two days! Laura and Veronica finished the races, completed the challenge, and came home with three shiny medals for the effort. 

A lot has changed since that first challenge and Laura and Veronica were ready for a new one. This time, Kathi will be a part of the adventure. Even though we're each in a different state (Iowa, Minnesota, Washington), we are training together, supporting each other, and holding one another accountable for completing ournext challenge, this time, in California:

The Disneyland Double Dare Challenge

This challenge takes place during the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend in Anaheim, California at the end of August 2018 and consists of completing the Disneyland 10K and the Disneyland Half Marathon on back-to-back days. That's 19.3 miles in TWO days. In addition to receiving a finisher's medal for each individual race, completing the challenge earns you an additional medal.

While finishing both races, completing the challenge, and receiving the medals will be great, this is only one part of the goal. Getting fit and having fun while miles apart is another goal. But there's more to it for our group.

While in California for the races, Veronica will be celebrating being cancer free for TEN years and to honor that major milestone, we have decided to make our year long training include a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. 

We've got ONE year to raise $10,000 and we need your help.
