The Fundraiser

When we first started talking about completing the Disneyland Double Dare Challenge together, it was for the goal of having fun and getting fit. Once we realized that the race weekend coincided with the ten year anniversary of one of our group members surviving cancer, we added another goal of celebrating. 

We have all lost loved ones to cancer and that's why we want to make sure that lots more people survive. We have decided to add one more goal to our race weekend: to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Three women. Three states. Three medals. Kathi, Laura, and Veronica are training to complete the Disneyland Double Dare Challenge in August 2018 at Disneyland in California as a fundraising effort for the American Cancer Society. Each woman's story is her own, but together they are better. Together they are wiser. Together they will finish stronger. All three women have lost family and friends to cancer, but this fundraiser will be about surviving. These women have learned to survive the loss of a loved one to cancer and one of them is a cancer survivor herself. In fact, the weekend of the race, Veronica will be celebrating being cancer free for 10 years and that is why the fundraising goal is set to $10,000. To honor this major milestone, the women are committed to raising $1,000 for each year Veronica has been a survivor.
